Our Jamaican "Family" Team
Our Jamaican workers (above) come back year after year through the H2A Program. The H2A program allows
them to come here in the spring (leaving their families), and then leave in the fall to go back to Jamaica. The
wages they earn here in the United States supports their families, and even some extended families. Sections of Jamaica
are filled with poverty, and work is limited. Everything has to be shipped there and the costs are extremely high.
So they seek the work here in the United States in order to provide a better life for their families.
You will see the
Jamaicans shopping at a lot of local stores. They buy a large quantity of food, clothing, and other necessities here
and pack shipping barrels to send home to their families. They are truly the providers for their families, and they
take great pride in what they do! I have a lot of respect for them and their work ethic. I truly consider them
part of my family!
These men are truly a blessing to all of us farmers! We would not be in business today
if we did not have them or the H2A Program! They do a huge part of the planting, maintenance of the crops, and harvesting.
They are truly the back bone of our farm!
