Our Story

Our farm was founded in 1985 by Paul with a simple but ambitious goal: to grow fresh, local food for the community. In the early days, making that dream a reality meant long hours and tireless dedication. Paul often worked multiple jobs—on top of farming full-time—just to keep the farm going. But through sheer hard work, he built something lasting: a farm that has become a trusted source of fresh, local food for families, neighbors, and businesses across Vermont. Today, we farm over 250 acres of open land, making us one of the largest open-air farms in the state. Our produce feeds people not only in Williston, Colchester, Essex, and Jericho through our farm stands and CSA program but also reaches tables statewide through our wholesale partnerships. What started as one farmer’s dream has grown into a cornerstone of the local food system, providing reliable, high-quality food that strengthens our community.

Even in his older years, Paul still works day in and day out to make sure our produce gets from the fields to your table. He’s out there alongside our crew of 24 Jamaican H-2A workers, many of whom have been with us since the very beginning. Every April, they arrive and stay through November, helping with everything from planting and weeding to harvesting, sorting, and packing. Their hard work and skill are a huge part of what keeps our farm running, and over the years, they’ve become more than just a team—they’re family.

Farming is tough work. The days start early and stretch long, with aching muscles, dirt-covered hands, and the kind of exhaustion that only comes from working the land. But through all the hard work, there’s always laughter. Whether it’s good-natured teasing between Paul and the crew or a joke cracked in the middle of a hot afternoon, humor keeps our spirits high. It reminds us that we’re in this together—not just as a team, but as a farm family. At the end of the day, that’s what our farm is built on—hard work, dedication, and a deep appreciation for the people who make it all possible.

Our farm has grown into a place where the community gathers—whether it’s at our farm stands, through our CSA program, or simply by enjoying the fresh food we provide to local stores. We love seeing familiar faces stop by the stand, swapping recipes, catching up on life, and sharing in the excitement of each new season’s harvest. For us, it’s about more than just growing food—it’s about creating a space where people feel welcome, connected to their food, and part of something bigger.

Paul has spent decades building this farm, and now his daughters, are working alongside him, learning from his years of experience and bringing their own passion to the work. Together, they’re continuing what he started—ensuring the farm remains a place where good food, hard work, and community come together.

At the end of the day, that’s what it’s all about: feeding our neighbors, strengthening our local food system, and welcoming everyone who walks through our farm stand doors. We’d love for you to stop by, say hello, and share in the harvest with us.
