Traditional CSA
What will be included in my traditional CSA?
With our traditional CSA, members can expect delicious, farm fresh, in season produce every week for 19 weeks. Every Saturday spanning from June through October, you will stop by the stand and pick up pre-selected produce by our wonderful CSA coordinator.
Not a fan of the selection? Wanting to swap some items out? No problem! We will happily work with you to find an adequate, equal value swap to meet your needs and personal taste.
Addtionally, you will recieve a weekly newsletter that shares the latest farm updates, tasty recipes for in season produce and a summary of the produce included in your upcoming share so that you can plan your meals.
Important Details
* Pick up days/times are: *SATURDAYS from 8 AM - 10 AM (or 11 AM TBD), Essex Location only.
* If you miss a weekly pick-up on a Saturday: your name will be placed on a list for that week – you will have 2 weeks from that Saturday to get your produce. If you get exactly what is listed in the share for the week you missed, no need to have it weighed, however, if there is a substitution, all produce will be weighed and you will be asked to pay the difference (based on your share size).
2024 CSA Share Pricing
Our pricing for each share is based on when customers sign up. The sooner you sign up, the more you save!
If you sign up on or before April 15th, you will recieve an additional 15% value on top of what you paid.
If you sign up April 16th through May 15th, you will recieve an additional 10% value on top of what you paid.
If you sign up on May 16th or later you will pay face value of the weekly share
* Small Share - Recieve approximately $22 worth of produce weekly
- On or before April 15th - $370
- April 16th thru May 15th - $380
* Medium - Receive approximately $28 worth of produce weekly
- On or before April 15th - $470
- April 16th thru May 15th - $485
* Large - Receive approximately $37 worth of produce weekly.
- On or before April 15th - $620
- April 16th thru May 15th - $640
2024 Traditional CSA Sign Ups

*** Please note that if you choose to pay via credit card, there will now be a 4% transaction fee added. We understand that this change may come as an inconvenience and want to provide clarity on the reasons behind this decision.
In recent years our farm has faced significant increases in input costs, including packaging, fertilizer, and seeds. These rising costs in combination with exorbitant credit card processing fees, have put considerable strain on our farm. We have chosen to implement a 4% processing fee for all credit card payments, including online CSA payments, in order to offset these rising costs. By charging for the 4% processing fees on credit cards, we are able to maintain a relatively low price on the produce that we sell on the stand.
We want to emphasize that there are alternative payment options that do not incur the additional 4% fee. Customers opting for a mail-in check will not be subject to the convenience fee, thus saving the 4%. We are committed to complete transparency when it comes to pricing and fees and will continue to monitor input costs. Should input costs decrease for the farm, we will reevaluate this policy. We genuinely appreciate your understanding and patience during this transition period and apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you, as always, for your continued support. CSA Your Way
What the heck is a CSA your way and what does it include?
Are you looking for a CSA program with more flexibility and autonomy over what you get and when you get it? Look no further! With our CSA Your Way program, our valued CSA members will pay ahead of time and recieve added value on their cards as a thank you. The added value depends on when you sign up, remember the earlier the better!
After we open (roughly mid June) you will be able to use your card on any and all of the produce we grow here on the farm until our closing date (October 31st). That means you can use it on Pick Your Own berries and apples in addition to the produce sold at our farmstands. With 4 convenient CSA shares you can pick the amount that works best for you and your lifestyle!
Addtionally, you will recieve a weekly newsletter that shares the tasty recipes for in season produce and updates on the farm so you can stay in the know about all things Paul Mazza's!
Important Details
* We do have a refer a friend program for our CSA Your Way program. If you refer a new customer to the program you will get an additional $20 added onto your pre-paid CSA card. To qualify for this, the person you referred will need to put your name down in the referral box on the sign up sheet. We will then confirm they are a new CSA customer and then add the $20 onto your giftcard! We started this program as a thank you for sharing our CSA Your Way with your friends and family! We encourage you to take advantage of it and spread the word!
* When making your first purchase (or before), pick up your card at the location you requested when registering/paying. The card will NOT be mailed to you.
* You can shop whenever is convenient for you, on any day of the week. We are open 7 days a week, 7 AM to 8 PM for most of the season. You can buy as much or as little as you'd like each time you shop.
* Please treat these cards like cash or other gift cards. We will NOT be able to track your specific card if it is lost or stolen. Feel free to take a picture of, or write down, your card number, if you wish.
* You can check your own card balance at: www.getyourbalance.com by using the numbers on the back of your card (Card ID number and PIN are needed), in which you may want to record. This is the ONLY WAY your information may be retrieved, We do not have card numbers on file.
* If you have any further issues with your CSA Card please reach out to the company we get them from, Factor 4 at support@factor4gift.com.
* Each share purchased will be provided ONE card only. If you were a household that split a share with another household, or amongst members of your own household, you may wish to purchase two smaller shares rather than one larger one (a registration/payment form needs to be completed for each share). It is still the same 15% or 10% added value.
* Our CSA Your Way cards are designed to be for one seasons use. Because of this, you are strongly encouraged to use the whole amount on your card THIS YEAR!!!
* CSA Your Way cards CANNOT be used on any of the flowers sold or grown on the farm.
* CSA Your Way CAN be used on bulk produce.
* CSA Your Way CAN be used on our Pick Your Own Herbs.

- On or before April 15th: Pay $350 and recieve a pre-paid CSA card for $402.50
- April 16th-May 15th: Pay $365 and recieve a pre-paid CSA card for $401.50
*MEDIUM Share
- On or before April 15th: Pay $450 and recieve a pre-paid CSA card for $517.50
- April 16th-May 15th: Pay $470 and recieve a pre-paid CSA card for $517.00
*LARGE Share
- On or before April 15th: Pay $600 and recieve a pre-paid CSA card for $690.00
- April 16th-May 15th: Pay $625 and recieve a pre-paid CSA card for $687.50

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I register for the CSA program?
All you have to do to register is visit the CSA Program Page on our website and follow the link for your preferred CSA option (Traditional or Your Way), and click the button for your preferred method of payment.
If you pay by Mail-In check, you must CLICK the blue SUBMIT button at the bottom of the registration form in order to complete registration. You will receive an automatically generated email from Google with your answers. This is confirmation that we have received your registration information.
If you pay by credit card or electronic check (ACH), you will receive an email from eProcessingNetwork, also indicating your registration and payment were received.
What size share should I get?
This is just a suggested guide as it truly depends on the amount of produce your household eats and shares with others!
* The extra small share is perfect for a very small household, for example single/senior.
* The small share is good for a couple of people who eat a lot of veggies.
* The medium share is good for a small household.
* The large share is good for a larger household.

When do I pick up my share?
**For our Traditional CSA option only**
At our Essex location on Saturdays from 8 AM to 10 AM (or 11 AM, TBD).
The first pick up is typically in mid-June but it is weather dependent. You will receive an email with information which will include the first pick-up update as the season gets closer. It will run for 19 weeks, so through most of October.
What happens If I miss a pick up for the Traditional CSA option?
If you miss a weekly pick-up on a Saturday:
Your name will be placed on a list for that week – you will have 2 weeks from that Saturday to get your produce.
If you get exactly what is listed in the share for the week you missed, no need to have it weighed.
However, if there is a substitution, all produce will be weighed and you will be asked to pay the difference based on the value of your share size (small = $22, medium = $28, large = $37).
How does the CSA – Your Way option work?
* You will receive a prepaid gift card which allows you to shop when you want to shop (with no scheduled days or times)! You can purchase as much or as little produce as you would like at each visit to the farm! The produce that you purchase is 100% your choice!
* You will use the gift card to “purchase” all of your farm fresh fruit and vegetables during the 2024 season.It can be used all season, on all produce that is sold at our farm stands, even Pick Your Own (PYO) berries and apples!
* It can be used at either of our two convenient locations. So if you normally shop at Essex, but find yourself at our Colchester location you can use it there too!
* Please note, the card is to be used on PRODUCE ONLY and WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST OR STOLEN CARDS.
* You are encouraged to purchase a share size suitable for your needs THIS season.
How will I know what is in season?
* Every week we will send out an email which includes new fruits and veggies that are in season or an approximate day it may be coming in, and a new recipe to try!
* You can also check our website www.paulmazzas.com for seasonal produce.
What if I can't pay all at once?
If it is too challenging to pay all at once, it is typical that a payment plan can be worked out. Please email us at: CSA@paulmazzas.com
Is there a chance that the CSA will get canceled due to flooding?
We do have fields right on the Winooski river that sometimes flood, but we also have many other fields on higher ground that don't. We grow approximately 250 to 300 acres of produce!
Is Paul Mazza's an organic farm?
We are not certified organic. We are an IPM (Integrated Pest Management) farm, which means we use chemicals for pest control only when necessary, and when all other measures have failed. We also use many sustainable farming practices such as covering crops and crop rotation. We are also GAP certified, which means that we follow “Good Agricultural Practices.”
How do I check my CSA Your Way Card (Green Only) Balance?
You can check your own card balance at: www.getyourbalance.com by using the numbers on the back of your card (Card ID number and PIN are needed), in which you may want to record. This is the ONLY WAY your information may be retrieved, We do not have card numbers on file.
I am having issues with my CSA Your Way Card! What do I do?
The company we purchase the green CSA cards from offers customer support. Please reach out to them directly if an issue arises with your card at: support@factor4gift.com.
